What Is a Sales Funnel?
A sales funnel is the path that moves a potential customer from first attention to a defined conversion, with deliberate steps for capture, follow-up, offer and action.
It is not just a page sequence
Pages are the visible layer. The funnel also includes the promise that earns attention, the mechanism that captures a lead, the messages that reduce uncertainty, the offer, the checkout or booking action, and the post-conversion experience.
A simple structure
| Stage | Job |
|---|---|
| Attention | Reach the right person with a relevant promise. |
| Capture | Earn permission or commitment to continue. |
| Nurture | Build relevance and reduce uncertainty. |
| Offer | Present the next step clearly. |
| Conversion | Complete purchase, booking, trial or another goal. |
| Follow-up | Deliver, onboard, retain or create the next useful action. |
Where software fits
Funnel software coordinates pages, contact capture, automation and payment or delivery. Design the funnel first, then choose the stack.
